If you want an Internet connection of your own then to buy a wireless router and configure it by typing the ip or designated link that is provided.

If you want a different ISP because you dont like the one that was provided to you automatically by your school then refer to Cam's first post.

That would give you a separate network, but you'd still be limited by the original connection. That wouldn't help.
