I agree it's stupid but Bungie doesn't care about that.

My friend reported going 25-5~ with like 9+ assists a game and only dropping like a 1450 or so too, so I have no idea what the onyx requirement will be.

I guess probably 70% of the time, the more kills you have the better you do, and even when that's not the case a 19 kill guy won't beat a 25 kill guy unless he's like 19-5 with 10 assists... so if you're good, you're good, if you're bad you're bad... The game ends up being fair for the most part, I just hate having 23 kills and being 5th, seems a little unbalanced to me.

so they count assists as points too now? that just doesn't make sense - in team arena assists are actually helpful.... you helped your teammate get a kill, whereas in FFA, you fucked up and got your kill stolen

yes assists help your rating, but you need to mainly focus on kills and having very few deaths. each kill is rated higher than the last (for example your 2nd kill gives more than than the 1st, and so on), so of course kills are the most important factor in your rating, but ive seen people with enough kills to get 3rd, but they ended up getting 5th because of their high deaths and no assists
