In my honest opinion, god hasn't proven me his existence yet, so he is out of the picture. That doesn't mean I don't believe he doesn't exist, who am I to judge those who believe in his existence, he just hasn't shown me anything yet.
People have the ability to reason, and that's part of choosing to be gay or not. What you are attracted to is what you will go after. I can say that a guy looks sexy(only his face because that's what I am attracted to), but I am not going to sex him up. I know for a fact that I am more bound to a girl and what she has to offer because it's what makes me comfortable.

I mean let's think about it though. If god made it a sin to be homosexual and like your own sex why would he make you like that from birth? He WOULDN'T. Everyone sins obviously, because it's just how we are, we're born in sin, but we choose to sin, and can't help it. We wouldn't be born gay though that just wouldn't happen you choose your sins

They commit suicide because they are constantly harassed by majority of the community.
They do understand they like the same sex. What they don't understand is why people believe it's wrong to like the same sex.
So obviously they are going to go with what makes them comfortable, and you can't change a persons desire for another's opinion.

Well, according to my religion, god made men to be attracted to females and vice versa. Thus he made it a sin to go against his wishes. Being gay is a choice, and a sin for going against gods wishes. Once again he made humans to be attracted to the opposite sex, you cannot be born with a natural attraction to the same sex.

This of course is just my opinion based on my beliefs and religion.
