dont have a router in my room anymore, parents got new internet and its all wireless, and im not paying for the $100 wireless adapter seeing as how i dont even have the money to pay my phone bill/ car insurance
Buy a spool of CAT-5 cable (cheap, maybe 40-50 bucks for a few hundred feet, more than you need). Plug one end into the wireless router wherever it is, run it through your house (preferably through the attic) and down into your room (going to have to cut a hole in the wall near the router and in your room, but you can put an ethernet jack in the wall so it doesn't look tacky). Plug in xbox or computer, or best off get an ethernet switch to plug in whatever you need.
Note that another router (as opposed to an ethernet switch) in your room would cause some problems since a secondary router running through the primary router has some IP assignment issues, which can be tricky to resolve.
