Wow, you're stupid.  If you can read, CE doesn't come with the capability.  You had to play on Connect.  You stated nothing about Connect so for me to assume that's what you meant would be stupid.
Halo 2 made Xbox Live's base of what it is today.  It was the most competitive/fun game of its time.

I see a lot of people saying that Reach is the best of the series.  But have these people actually played 2? I'm talking about the multiplayer.
I've played all of the Halo games with a considerable amount of time spent doing so.  Is it an addicting multiplayer or will it get old after a month like 3's did?

herrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppp Xbox Connect is multiplayer and responding to retards is hard for me.

Gee, I wonder why Halo CE didn't have the online capabilities that Halo 2 did...maybe because XBOX LIVE DIDN'T EXIST YET?  Kind of hard to add a feature to a game when you know nothing about said feature, I'd say.

Halo 2 has done absolutely nothing to advance the series, which is quite funny considering how stinking long it took them to make it in comparison to the first one, couple with pushing the release date back over a year.  Lets see what additions were made:

Dual welding (LOL)
Replaced the pistol, a gun that actually requires SKILL, with a BR that doesn't even have the range of an assualt rifle from Halo CE.
Sticky aim, diluting the learning curve into the equivalent of playing Pokemon Snap.
Took away fall damage, which was probably to help the plethora of 3-year-olds and kids with no hands who want to play so that they can walk across a beam without falling off to their death (you know, like it should be).
Took away health, and instead replacing it with a "magical" invisible amount of health, meaning you have no viable way of determing how close you are to dying when your shield is down.
Making the sniper rifle easier to use while no-scoping than when zoomed in.
Replaced small, symmetric maps with giant ones, filled with enough useless, stupid "eye candy" that it would make Walt Disney puke in his grave.
The sword.
The only real component that made the multiplayer somewhat deep, button combos, were there simply because Bungie sucked at fool-proofing the game.
No more power-up timing.
No more grenading weapons to yourself.

I could literally go on for hours.

You are welcome to like whatever game you want, but please don't try to use the argument that Halo 2 "revolutionized" anything, because not only are you wrong but saying so makes you look quite silly.

The irony is, dual wielding exists only for AI in Reach.
Also the sticky aim is still bad in Reach.
The health system is back, but it's not as easy to get health (you have to press a button instead of walking over it like we used to).
The maps are mostly rehashed Halo 2 ones, which sucks.

Obviously you could not afford XBL to see how Halo 2 made XBL what it was for quite some time. I think that's called revolutionizing.

You cannot compare Xbox Connect to XBL. Connect was, at the time, a piece of shit but you had to deal with it because it's the only way you could play online.
XBL had a greater base of players and quite a bit more functionality. Connect was only used for poorfags after XBL came out.

Or I just had $100 to buy Halo 2 and a year of XBL?

Sigh, silly kids.

First off, you were 12 years old when Xbox Live was released, so I find it quite funny/ironic that you are calling someone out for being "poor" for not having XBL. Last time I checked, there aren't a lot of 12-year olds walking around with steady jobs and loads of cash.

Perhaps your mommy and daddy bought it for you, as well as an ample supply of food judging from your picture.

Also, I won't go into details, but assuming that I can't afford to buy something is making you look really dumb.

This isn't a comparison between Xbox Live and XBConnect. This is a comparison between Halo CE and Halo 2. I bet you are one of those kids who thinks newer games are better than classics merely because the graphics have improved. Simply put, it is illogical and asinine to use technological advances (or lack thereof) that are out of the control of a game as reasons why one game is better than the other. Halo CE's multiplayer laid the groundwork for every Halo game that followed it, hence the many similarities with layout and design, and just because Xbox Live didn't come out until later doesn't dilute this fact.

Yeah, it is a shame I actually had parents that occasionally bought things for me when I was young. I apologize.

Edit: I stopped reading after the bold because you implied that @ 12, mommy and daddy stop buying things for kids. Fail argument.
It's kind of a given that anyone that's 12 doesn't work.
