So i probably should have search-barred this (i hope this hasn't been made before).

I was thinking the other day that we all debate about headsets usually concerning sound quality almost never about microphone quality. This got me thinking. The "Beats" studio addition have a microphone that hangs a couple inches below one of the ears. The "Beats" have been advertised as one of the best stereo headphones you can buy under $500. Other ads claim that you can hear things in songs that you won't hear with "any other pair of headphones".

So my question is if these are so good, why don't i see people using them outside of music, for example competitive gaming?

So i want some feedback on a few things.

1. If you own a pair how good is the sound quality?
2. Have you ever used them in combination with a mixamp of some sort?
and 3. How do they compare to other headsets you've used?

I'm not entirely sure the mic would work through the mixamp but i think the audio quality especially the deep basses would be unmatched. Someone please try this and post/pm me.

I use them too, i know they're good... Surely to god someone has some studio beats they can test out.
