dont try to get gold chocobo on first disc, because you cant. I think its on disc 2 you can get chocobos on stall. When you enter the chocobo ranch, if they're chocobos in, you cant bring yours, if its empty, you must talk to a guy at the ranch, and buy room for the chocobos. And then, hunt some chocobos. For getting the special chocobos, you must need to train them and make them run on Gold Saucer to increase his chocobo lvl, so its easier to get an special chocobo . At the north island, theres a master of chocobos whose memory sucks but it gives you information how to get the chocobos. BTW, talk with the chocobo you see there

Its a waste of time to get gold chocobo disc2 get him disc 3, n if ur aiming for the ultimate weapon wit the read pepper then unfortunately u must wait till the islands dissapear in disc 4
