So I am going to play FF3 on my SNES emulator and am wondering if there's a way (hopefully) to save game files so that I can replay where I left off etc. I'm new to the whole emulation thing so it may be something simple that I just havcen't realised yet. Anyone out there to help let me know. Thanks.

You can save either on the ROM/ISO/whatever file (the saving procedure is normal, you save whenever the game allows you to), or you can save with F keys (you can save whenever you want, saves the exact state when saved).

Thing is, saving on the game will save on the game file (modify it).
Saving through the emulator (F keys) will save the game on a separate file, in a directory where the game is located (iirc).

If you need more detailed help, I will need the name of your emulator.

snes9x is the way t ogo. yes, you can save state on it, it essentially freezes the game as-is and saves that. also, like the guy above said, it saves in the same folder as the game file, but under a new file. it's like, (game name)000.svs or something.

I've got a Playstation emulator but I can't get any games to go past the "insert memory card" screen. How do I bypass that so I can play the game.
