Hi I am looking into playing FFXIV but I have a few questions.
1. Is the game better on PS3 or PC
2. Does the game play better with a keyboard and mouse or a gamepad?
3. On the website, there is an Entry and Standard Membership Tier. Do I have an option to pick between these Tiers freely and are there
any other differences between the two other than characters slots?
4. Is this game fun yet? I've read about how FFXIV had some problems but how is the state of the game after Realm Reborn has released? I have not played WoW but I have played a few WoW clones.
5. Is there a free trial for this game, if so, how long and what are the limitations?
6. Do I need to buy the retail copy or can I just torrent the dvd (of course, paying subscription fees)
7. Are there active JSP members? And would it be possible to purchase Crystas from JSP members?
8. Can I buy monthly subscriptions from retail stores and if so, do these cards ever go on sale?

Thanks.

1. PC since you can have no capped fps and can still use a controller.
2. Depends, most people prefer keyboard for faster macros and response time. Gamepad is just a preference if ur lazy :P
3. Entry = more characters you can make in any server. Standard membership = 1 character per server only (If I recall).
4. Game was fun on release but atm theres not alot of features (I quit about 3 months after release due to capped levels and gear).
5. Not atm i think.
6. You need to buy the retail game. You can't just torrent then pay subscriptions.
7. Not that I could think off, might be a few players that play on JP servers. Crystas are considered IRL currency so its illegal.
8. Theres no subscription cards yet if i'm sure.

Thanks for the reply, kind of a turnoff lol. Wish these games (FFXI and XIV) at least had an offline option where you can play with
local people.

Also I used the controller and was a lot of fun. I'd say to go ahead and use the controller, but once you get into raid dungeons switch over to keyboard if class requires a lot of skills being used.
