Will this be viable in future updates/patches? Anyone have an idea, or know if its viable currently some how?

based on my personal experience, seeing their programming team and their implementation and goals, i would say it's not coming. ever.

what makes you say this? what "goals" is insisted in future? mic system would be 100% better to communicate. guess flaw of console? hm.. pc is only like $12 on amazon erm..

Console compability = no Mic integration.

Besides, most people already use a Ventrilo/TS/Mumble service with their FCs.

yeah, ive used vent before which is a good program. so basically ur telling me that theres now way to communicate with your FC on console, except chat? seems a little unfair imo. a lot of games have mic compatibility to communicate. every CoD series is mic related to be able to communicate. as this being a MMORPG communication is practically everything. end game raids, FC partying etc etc.. the chat system (even with a KB) would be hard to keep an eye on while maintain your current role in group.

just seems.. unfair I guess. Guess I may consider PC version to be able to do play efficiently and land a descent/good FC.

How strong of a PC is actually needed to run this smoothly? I have a descent PC nothing high end. no really after market changes. would it be able to run efficiently end game?

Just get it on PC or move your PC closer to your PS3 and use vent/ts/mumble

do u need a strong rig to run ff14 smoothly? would something basic run it alright? PC isn't that much, literally like only like $15-$20, soo..

Could easily build a PC for under $500 that could run it. Just need the RAM, storage, and Drivers.

My shit laptop, Sony VAIO with an older AMD card runs FFXIV just fine.
