It's an MMO. U'll learn quite easily trust me! Even if u are a FF player or not!

You can be any class you want in one character.

So if you didn't like ur first class just go to a diff city unlock the class and play that one instead

Yeah it all depends on what kind of role you want to play, DPS, tank, or healer.
Melee dps - Lancer/Dragoon, Pugilist/Monk
Tanks - Gladiator/Paladin, Maurader/Warrior
Healers - Conjurer/Whitemage, Scholar/Arcanists
Range DPS - Arcanists/Summoners, Thaumaturge/Black mage

there are no talent trees so you dont really need to worry about skills, you learn them as you level up.
like pnoypke0 said ts an MMORPG, its not like the other final fantasies you have played.

Everything you need, you will learn through the main story of the game. (mounts/dungeons/leves/retainer etc)
so if you have any questions about when you will get something, the most likely answer will be "you will learn it through the main story quests"
