It should actually go the opposite way because of no gil fountains at 50. There's been tons of discussion on it. At 50 you start to lose money unless you make it off of other players. There's nothing you can farm in this game for more gil other than starting new characters to do quests again. Most people who haven't hit 50 yet or haven't starting dungeon runs don't realize this. This is also why market prices in game have deflated across the board. People are spending much more conservatively as soon as they realize how fast their gil dries up.
It's actually an interesting way to keep the economy from inflating like crazy like in other mmo's.
