So I've been playing since open beta, and now all of a sudden when I start up the FFXIV launcher it tells me I either have to make an account or input the code I got from owning version 1.0. Which I didn't even play..... No other options.

I click I already have an account, and then it asks me for my registration code. I input that and it says it's already in use, then after a couple tries it comes up as invalid code.
It wont let me sign in on the main launcher screen anymore, that doesn't even come up when I open the launcher. Anyone have any idea what to do? Support has been no help whatsoever.
Is it asking me to do this because of the new terms of use? Any help is greatly appreciated


Also, when I try to log in on the main forums now, it says to be able to log in I need to have a character. Then says to go in game and create a character since I have none, wtf happened?

Dude I am having the EXACT same issue! Was there any chance your account was hijacked? Were you doing anything that would have caused SE to ban your account?

Nope, went and parked myself in an Inn last night and got disconnected sometime in between then and an hour ago. Tried booting it back up and the launcher won't even give me the option to play, just to input this code or go create an account.

same exact issue, I thought my account was hijacked lol, good to hear someone else is having the same issue but I wish I knew what the fuck was going on and since we can't call SE on the phone it sucks waiting for an email back from them.

It appears you are sol for now. It's almost always the case that someone has posted the problem you are having on reddit along with the chance of solution as well, I am pretty sure I saw a sloution to this problem on r/ffxiv so go check it out.

Did you actually register your game to your account? Before you automatically say yes, read the rest.

This shit is confusing, and stupid, but this is all the things you need to have done.

1. Register your pre-order code. You did this and got your early activation code which allowed you to play
2. Register your early activation code. This gave you access to the game from saturday through last night. early access ended last night.
3. Register your actual game code. This seems to be causing people issues because they think they registered their game, but they didn't. You should have gotten an e-mail from whatever retailer you bought the game from with a new code for this. Go to https://secure.square-enix.com/account/app/svc/Login?cont=account&request=mogstation and log in, and click on Add Platform (icon looks like story quest line icon). From there you can add the game registration code, which gives the 30 free days and enables access. This is also where you will put in a payment method.

Using the mog station, you can screw shit up by doing the wrong option. I pointed out the add platform button here:
