Read there was an issue with that. Was gonna buy tonight after work and give it a shot.

You can always log in. People that can't log in don't understand the system.

care to explain? I haven't even bought it yet so I don't know what's up. But I'm deciding if I want to go do something tonight or stay in and play FF :)

There are too many players and in order to preserve server integrity, they limit the number of players that can log in by accepting them in batches every 15 minutes. You can only log in during a short window every 15 minutes, and if you try to log in outside of that window you have no chances.

If you understand this fact, and log in during the correct window, logging in isn't that bad even in high traffic times.

They are in the process of increasing server capacity and amount to alleviate this problem, but of course it takes time.
