if i bought the original game in 2010 (preorder CE even) do i have to rebuy ARR? or do i just activate my account again? thinking of trying ARR

You don't need to buy it again, you'll even get the 2.0 CE items. However I think you just get a week free then you'll have to pay subscription. Not sure about that last part tho.
