Okay so I just got an Xbox 360. So happy. Only have a few games and was looking at some games for this involving Final Fantasy. I saw that they have 13 out, I've never really played Final Fantasy for real (unless you count FF3 on the IPod/DS)

So whole I be lost if I bought FF13?

Naw that game is horrible. It is is a final fantasy game in name only. Well i thought it sucked. Only people I've met that liked it has never played a final fantasy before. Give it a shot if u like but if u don't like don't let it reflect your opinion of the series as a whole.

Now if you have a playstation laying around I'd recommend trying Final Fantasy 7. Not really my favorite in the series but the game is pretty easy and a good game to start with. Assuming ofc you can get passed the graphics and no voice actors.

All that being said I don't think they've made a good ff game since square merged with enix. With the last being 10. Now its all about cash grabbing and games for the masses instead of creating a solid stand alone game.

All opinionated banter aside, no you won't be lost. The only games strung together are 10/10-2 and 13/13-2 so as long as you're started with the first of either you should be alright.
