What type of materia are you looking for? Most materia is either bought, dropped off of bosses or given to you as you advance more into the game. The rest of the materia (such as knights of the round table) can be completed by doing various difficult tasks such as killing ruby weapon or doing some of the subquests (yuffie)

sephiroth cave

stat maxing items -> sunken gelnika
leveling and materia growth -> crater (there are some ball like enemies that give like 100AP or something like that; farm that area with triple growth weapons)

items/equipment/materia is bought, found or obtained in sidequests

crater; in the swamp, the the magic pots give 1000ap each (max 2 in a battle, you need alot of elixers to farm these..dupe them ^_^) with apocalypse will give you up to 6000 ap in a single battle.

or you can get into a battle in the same area but are rarer, with 3x orange balls(forget what theyre called), they give 800 each, so 7200AP with apoc sword. you can master all your materia in about 4-7 hours(depending how far into it you are already) to get yourself a set of master materia.

youll run into alot of tonberries too, its best if you have a char with 4x cut doing 9999 dmg each to make these battles fast..(wont be cloud cuz he'll be rockin the apoc)

Don't waste your time on the Tonberries tho, they are not worth it.

this is what kill games imo. when you know it you must use it and game becomes boring.

it is end game tho so there is not much to spoil, it just makes mastering all your materia more reasonable if youre going for a more completed game. altho it was not intended to be as abusable as it required an elixer per, but with the w-item trick it then did make it far too convenient.



ah i suppose you could run away from them yes, last time i did it i was doing the game without running from a battle which is why i refrenced killing them.

Best play to do that kinda stuff, Why not look on the web for sites that have gameguides, Im sure there are many out there.

crater. movers give good ap and magic pots are amazing for leveling. Farm enemies that drop elixirs to use on magic pots. I have knights of the round maxed and all level 99 characters and it barely took 2 hours of farming exp if you do all the optional stuff in the game by end game you'll barely need to grind. IMO maxing materia and levels is pointless unless all you have left to do is kill the weapons.
