The Caius Paradox Ending with just Serah? I thought it was fun. I just buffed her with all 4 buffs, swapped to 2x RAV (Lightning was other RAV) and staggered him up to about 500%, then swapped to 2x COM (Red Choco) and ripped through most his life, then swapped to 2x MED (Green Choco), healed, and started going on 2x RAV again. Of course, I have maxed out all monsters and all Crystarium grids, so my Serah has like 7.5k hp. My monsters don't have any infusions done to them, so they're listed stats seem weak.
My Paradigms are with Serah set as leader:
COM COM COM
RAV RAV RAV
MED MED MED
SYN SYN COM
SAB SAB MED
SEN SEN COM
With the monsters being Lightning, Red Chocobo and Green Chocobo. Light and Red were both maxed with Potent materials throughout all of the leveling, while Green was maxed through first 2 grids with Mana, and then Potent for last 3 grids.
I don't do much for mixed Paradigms because I want my guys to stick to a single roll as much as posible. The only thing I will point out is if you notice, every single Paradigm has the ability to maintain the bonus gauge. I felt that was somewhat important, since I can swap to a necessary role and keep it going without worrying about reset.
The only time I swapped out anything on my Paradigms for a specific fight was vs Yomi. I changed out the last one to include the Green Chocobo instead due to the innate +36% phys he gets. I'm normally in that Paradigm for only 1-2 seconds anyways before swapping to something active, so I don't worry about it too much.
Obviously, if I spent time infusing, my pack would be stronger. At the moment though, I'm not sure what I want to infuse Lightning with. She's already really powerful as just her base self. I guess putting both STR +36% and MAG +36% would help, but otherwise...

As far as the fight in Oerba 200AF, I beat him the first time with 5 stars. I do remember almost losing that fight, but I went for a fast stagger and just went all in against him and managed to pull it off before I lost one of the 2 MC's.
As someone already said, have a sentinel up can make it alot easier.
If you really are having too much trouble with it, then skip that part for now and instead go to Sunleth Waterscape 300AF and complete the main quest objectives to get access to the Archylte Steppe. There, you can farm for just about anything in the game you'll need.
