Hi guys

Before going any further, if you don't want to help then you are welcome to post to bump this ;)

On the other hand, if you are genuinely trying to help, you will get FG if you manage to solve the problem. This is the problem.

I want to play PS 1 games on my PC.I know I need emulators for that, and I also need the game file itself, correct? I am confused between that, and already having the CDs. Some games I want to play are FF7 , 8, 9 Xenogears. Luckily I already have the CDs. So, am I right in saying I just need to download the Emulators and simply insert the CDs and play?

I think I should be able to play it easy and simple if i already own the CDs.

Also, I heard that the best PS emulator right now is epsxe?

Thank you for reading and hope to get help soon. Yes, FG is yours if you can help me.

Thank you sir

So, ROM is like the CDs. But I already have the CDs, can I use them ? So run my emulator, then run my CD, isnt it easier+ simpler?

Hm? How can using CD be ton more work? :P I mean it should be simpler right? Just click run CD and thats it?

Well, lets say FF 7 or 8 or 9, and so on. How big are they to download? As in how many Gb or MB? And what is the file extension called, .rom?

Hey man, theres a few programs that will rip your cd into a file that will play on the emulator.
The one i used was magiciso, search on youtube for a tutorial on how to rip the cd in a file to play on the emulator.
I plan to play a rom of suikoden 2 after im done plaing suikoden 1, since a copy of 2 is over 100 bux.
Also, if your pc has an hdmi plug you can hook your pc to your big tv an use your xbox 360 controller for the controller.

it's actually harder to burn the a CD and getting it to work, it's much easier to just open the ROM files. PS1 ROMs are normally about 400-700MB.

All you need is an emulator (epsxe and psxfin are the best), a BIOS file for the Play Station (normally comes with the emulator, but you might have to download it seperately, and the ROM files for whatwever game you want.

there are loads of sites where you can find this stuff like coolrom, emuparadise, etc.

oh, I don't know if that would work. All the PS1 ROMs I have are from games I actually own, but I just downloaded them either way; I never tried using the original CDs.

And 400-700MB isn't that bad, any compueter you buy nowadays will have 500GB storage capacity at the very least.

Its not the storage ;) Its the internet. My limit is 10GB before I get capped.. -.-

Sigh...looking at this, I think its better to just find a ps 1 that has been mod chipped.... If I can find one, thats the problem it is really hard to find1 that can play pirate games.
