This has always been impossible for me, but I decided I wanted to do a Excalibur II run today and I knew I had to accomplish this. It was by no means flawless, I got it on my fourth try but my time is still pretty decent. In the end, covering the screen actually worked. Anyone else struggle with this minigame? Other FF challenges/minigames you guys have never accomplished?

Impressing all the nobles wasn't necessary for obtaining Excalibur II was it? Did you just decide that since you're doing a beast ass task (the sword) that you may as well tackle this one too (the nobles) ? I haven't accomplished either by the way, and this is one of my favorite Final Fantasies.

It may not be entirely necessary, but it is really helpful. In any case, having the extra cash makes it so the cotton robe trick is more profitable. Also you have to run from or not experience encounters at all, so without the 10k you probably can't finance some future upgrades without reallly messing up your time. The moonstone helps deal with Black Waltz 2 considering that fira can one shot you at low levels, but I think it isn't very useful beyond that fight.

I have done this and, yes, it was hard and took me quite a few tries. What I could never manage to complete in FFIX was the jump rope minigame.

I think most retarded mini game in history well not so necessarily a mini game, but the butterfly catching game in ffx. was so tedius and a vicious cycle or repeating constant failed attempts. :D

hmmm... that was indeed very hard and frustrating. Imo that one and the chocobo race were the hardest and most annoying sidequests in FFX. But I did manage to complete them, the jumpropes in FFIX, however, were too much for me. Out of all the sidequests I tried to complete from all the FF games, I think it's the only one I never managed to accomplish.

Isn't the king of ropes after like 1000 jumps or something, I remember getting past 300 then it just got insane for me.
