Hi all, I'm new to FFXI. My character name is Atelo if anyone plays and wants to add me.
My friend took me to Gusgen Mines to join an alliance and level. She got offline awhile ago and I just stayed here until lvl 25.
I'm guessing I should move on but idk where to go from here. Any suggestions?

You used to play wow didnt you? I think I've seen you around the wow forum. I quit a while back....good riddance. I'll never touch another mmo again. Good luck to you though....sorry for the spam lol.

No problem. And yeah I still play WoW. A WoW friend of mine is taking a break and playing FFXI and invited me to play with her.

i played ffxi for 6 years and stopped after the abyss expansion because it ruined the game completely but if i remember right, you should start partying from now as much as u can

25-29 yutunga jungle, you need to go farm the 3 keys to get the airship pass.

29-31/32ish yohator jungle

31-37 garlaige citadel

some hints there, theres also nice camps in the past for ings of godess, cant remember all this stuff now

Unlock your subjob. Once you get to 30 you can start unlocking advanced jobs.

Good luck finding a party though, it may still be possible pre level 30, but you'll most likely be level syncing in qufim island, just outside of jeuno. From level 25, back in the day, yes you would go to Yuhtunga Jungle. But, you need to get the keys to Kazham through a quest to be able to ride the airship there. That's why most people don't go there any more, and just sync in qufim or valkurm until they get 30+.

Game is so messed up now due to this level synch and also the Abysseas' and such...

This is probably the most unfriendly game to new characters I have ever played.

Yeah, you joined about 4 years or so too late. Not many new people joining any more so you are basically on your own. Most people who play the game know what's going on, and have been playing it a long time.

My advice would be to become very friendly with the ffxiclopedia page, it'll be a new players best friend. Hell, any players best friend.
