So they are pretty much remastering it as seen with a lot of games. The trend I see with all the other PS2 remastered games is they come in a package of 2. God of War 1 and 2, Ico and Shadows of the Colossus, Metal Gear Solid 2, 3, and Peace Walker.....well you get my point.

Do you think they will put another remastered FF game with this? In my opinion MOST LIKELY they'll put FF X-2 with it but I HOPE they put FF XII with it.

Thoughts?

I doubt it, this is Squenix we're talking about here.

This. I would prefer they buff X-2 and release them together since I've never started a file or even contemplated playing the sequel, but I tend to expect the worst nowadays.

You know thats sad but true. I read an article recently (I think before the videos of FF 13-2 were released) and they were talking with someone from SE and he was talking about expanding their games to appeal to a larger audience. Only thing they have managed to do is push away LONG time RPG fans.

I feel they started going down hill after FF 10. Which if I remember correctly FF 10 was the last one made by Squaresoft. Squaresoft was amazing when they merged with Enix they just went to shit...

Problem with that is,

voice acting = diehard fans and loyal ff fans will be upset about this and won't buy it(i sure wouldn't buy it if it had voice acting)
no voice acting = no new players will buy this game going into it knowing there isn't any voice acting...it just wouldn't fly..

either way they lose.

but yea i am pretty sure they will put ffx-2 on disc with ffx...ffx would surely be enough for 40$ if remade, but knowing the trend of getting at least 2 games through sony hd remakes, it will happen

I don't get why anyone would want a FF7 remake. Better graphics would destroy the lore of the game. Old games made you use your own imagination to some extent. Having the game so detailed would ruin it and any nostalgia factor.

Gaming has changed too much, remaking FF7 HD style would just expose the game as being old. Because, it is old. So far, Squenix has been smart. I'm sure they know remaking the game would ruin the legacy.

The reason they don't remake 7 is because the project would be massive and expensive with a high chance of failure. It would mean putting hold every other game planned. Do you really think they are going to spend two years remaking a game that could backfire on them completely instead of making new ones? Could you imagine the brand damage with a remake failure of a top 5 EVER game?

The project to remake it wouldn't be as hard as you think most likely. The game is already programmed and made. All they'd be doing is revamping the art, character models, and pre-rendered backgrounds. Your last sentence was my point, in a sense. The brand would be damaged, because the game wouldn't be any good anyways in a new market, it'd be a waste of resources.

Can't wait for this to be released. Too bad there's not many updates on this. I hope they remaster FFX-2 as well.
