has anyon beaten the final boss without grinding to the overpowered spheres, or without getting the cheating items (which people use for low level runs)?

i tried for about 3 hours a while ago and i couldnt do it. so my 4th attempt at beating ff10 is also a failure. i got to final boss this time though :)

To this day I've never beat a game 'hard mode' style. Never done VIII or IX as level 1, never done X with lesser sphere grids. Not that this is relevant to your post, just thought I'd share my life story

I haven't beat 10 yet either, and I'm right on the last boss too lol. Though, I was really lazy on my file, I didn't do any side quests, or grind at all. I've actually only tried fighting the last boss twice though, and yeah it's pretty tough. I just mainly played blitz ball the whole time through the game and it finally caught up to me on the last boss haha.

My homie and I put over 200 hours into it the last time I played it, only to find out it wasn't even the full version (with the extra bosses and whatnot). Probably won't fuck with this game again until it's re-released for Playstation 3.

FFX International is amazing, it's where the real challenge is. I find the story part of the game extremely easy, it's the sidequests that are hard, specially the Dark Aeons and Penance. I have around 220 hours on my 100% file, it just takes ages to get it all done (unless you Yojimbo your way through bosses and drop the training).

My first playthrough(cant recall how long ago) was simply that i did all of the story, and any sidequests that i stumbled upon(i don't look up sidequests unless its just how to start them). I didn't do too much but i found the final fights a little challenging, but i beat them in 3 or 4 tries..

what the fuck is the point in doing the challenging parts of the game if you are going to cheat?

He clearly said he doesn't think this sort of playthrough would be possible without exploiting Yojimbo.

A friend of mine that is pretty much obsessed with the game has done everything without the use of yojimbo in anything but regular fights.
