beat the whole game using only squall (and laguna). didn't level untill 3rd disc when you get cactuar, at which point i equipped: spr bonus, hp bonus, str bonus, vit bonus and leveled to 100 with these abilities. then i junctioned as necessary for maximum stats.

for defensive purposes: 50% resistance to all elements and absorb 50% of fire/ice/lightning. immune to berserk/break/confuse/death (the ones that take you out of battle). i also cast protect, shell and haste before each battle (none of which alters spr/vit/speed so actual stats are much higher than listed). before buffs max vit and hp and almost max spirit. 22% evade

for attacking purpose: every attack of mine casts poison, silence, darkness and curse. had lion heart early in disc 1. max strength and hit very high spd

for collection: got all cards and gf's and had 99 heros. solo'd omega wepaon.

total time: 54 hours 18 minutes.

How'd you get lion heart during disk 1? Doesn't it usually appear around the end in disk 4?

It's a little trick, you don't need Weapons Monthly 1st Issue to buy it.

1. Kill Grendels in the Galbadia Forest for Dragons Fangs.
2. Kill Brothers for theirs cards to refine Adamantine.
3. Win 20 Elnoyle cards for the two Energy Crystals to refine into Pulse Ammo.
4. ????
5. Profit!

i did it playing a ton of cards. i had punishment (in my opinion the coolest looking weapon in the franchise) before my first mission. you also want to change the rules so you will get ALL cards when you when a game. you'll probably have enough blue dragons to refine into dragon fangs. the hardest and most time consuming is getting the 20 elnoyle cards. but i liked the card game very much so it wasn't too bad. if you do it correctly you'll have lion heart right when you get brothers (refining card).

oh haha i don't even remember and i just did it. i may have aimed for em for what they can refine into for early junctions. i just remember adamntoises, elnoyles, blue dragons, hexadragons, those worm things (tornado) were once i aimed for. i'm sure there are others i just can't remember of the top of my head.

also i remember having trouble getting dragon fangs from grendels because you have to have a level between 10-20 and i wasn't leveling. there are some great strats out there as trying to remember all em is pretty tough lol.
