which is pretty surprising as it's right in the beginning of the game...

both squall and Zell dead..every time i revived them with my very limited pheonix downs he would immediatly kill them without a chance to heal =(...

Draw/Cast cure from him with Selphie, as I believe she has the highest base magic out of the three. Draw/Cast Lightning with Squall, keep Zell at as high yellow health as you can and try for his limit over and over. (That's the cheap method) Otherwise, use Ifrit as much as you can. Don't forget to boost!

i pretty well had a shitload of cures going into it =p..it's just he is a very fast attacker =/

Draw/cast double from it and you shouldn't have a problem.

Fuck i didn't get siren during the elvoret fight!.

meaning i am now unable to junction status attacks and status defense..

Siren is incredibly useful, especially in the early parts of the game. Sucks you didn't get it, I would restart or go back to a previous save if you could. =/ Fortunately, you can [spoiler] redraw her from later bosses in the game, but it's not until disc 4. [/spoiler]

I'm just gonna live with my decision and play the game how i would if i didn't even know it existed =)..a good challenge is always fun...not having status attacks or defense will fucking suck though..hopefully another GF has that ability

Been a while since I played, but I can't imagine it's the only one. Status attack in particular does make the game a lot easier, but the game isn't impossible without it. I didn't have Siren or a few of the other GFs my first play through and I was still able to beat the game. It's cool that you're gonna keep going though, I like that decision. The show must go on!

Just finished the part where you go to the radio station.
So far a great game..love the combat/magic system

I was unaware you could draw Siren from certain enemies in Disc 4. If this wasn't the case, I'd take a deep breath and restart my game. If Elvoret was trouble to you, take some time to maximize all obtainable magics on every character you have available. Via the card game and the Card Mod ability, Tornado/Quake will be your best bet for the first 2 discs.
