I sold the materia I got from the chocobo farm on accident, so now I'm trying to decide whether I should try and get passed the snake on my own, or if I should restart. I've already restarted the game, and I'm half-way to the chocobo farm, but it pisses me off every time I load that file lol. So, can anybody tell me for sure if I can find chocobo lure later on in the game?

As for your main question I cannot remember if you can buy it again but I wouldn't be surprised if you could. I would definitely recommend leveling a little and beating up on the snake though. If u use the enemy skill materia and get the snakes big attack (name escapes me) it is one of the strongest magics you can get at that very early stage of the game. Definitely worth the time.

Beta =] and the snake is Midgar Zolom and is uber hard to kill at that stage, but relatively easy just a bit later once you have 1500+ HP. Yar.

Pretty sure, like onewingedangel said, that the chocobo farm is the only place you can get the chocobo lure materia from =/

You don't necessarily have to kill the snake just have enough life to withstand the "Beta" (ty for name) attack and then flee. Everytime I play 7 I always get this before continuing for its easy one hit kill factor for most of the beginning monsters.

if i remember right, you can obtain the choco lure materia only at the choco farm.But i am pretty sure that you can buy a new one, if you lose yours.

Anyway, when it reaches master level it will split and create a second one...

You dont need a chocobo in the entire game, unless you want the knights of the round materia.

The sandpit with the midgar zolom can be exploited. You walk on the surface as far as you can then before the Zolom arrives you open the menu and save. Now you load the game and the Zolom will be at his startposition which gives you the time to reach the other side on foot!

You can't get another one anywhere. I am positive.

it is possible to go around him, and across the lake without him attacking you, may take a few tries tho
