Lately I have had extreme ffxi fever ..... I quit when lvl cap was 75 and sea was as far as you can go so theres some new content for me to possibly play

i lost my character to damn gil sellers though. if i want to play i have to get a bunch of paperwork notarized apparently then send it to SE and hope they admit me my rightful account... what a crock

I would just remake a whole new character if I didnt have to do SOOOO MUCH bullshit to get access to shit again like fame quests/jeuno/cop etc etc

is it worth it to come back? Are there fun things to do?

more importantly- does everything still take 5 hours to even think about accomplishing something?

I stop at level 80 cap. If you spent ur life getting sea/sky gear and all that stuff, u would be hella pissed of the new expansions due to all the gear that easily obtained now thats way better than all the hard earned gear. Gil is worthless now in ffxi. All the new gear is so easy to get EVERYONE has it. As far as restarting, its kinda hard getting ANY low level parties to level anymore seeing as 95% of ppl are always at there endgame job. I would recommend u to go thru the bs process of getting ur guy back, it will be worth the time if u do get em back. Also cop and zm r hella easy now, they took off mostly all the caps and shit so u can pretty solo 85% of each story.

That's not entirely true, not EVERYONE has everything. Yes, the empyrean +1 is really easy to get. But it does take work to get +2 and a lot of the high end items from abyssea. Because, you cannot get those alone, and just like any other linkshell the leader(and their best friends) will always have priority over getting anything they want first(because this game is full of selfish bitches like that still). So basically the people with all the top gear are still the ones that run abyssea ALL the time, and have some form of control of a LS. That aspect of the game has not changed one bit.

I don't think all the sky/sea gear is worthless now though. There are still plenty of uses for it, it's just more situational for the most part. Also, those gears and salvage are supposedly going to be upgradeable in the future.

But yeah.. I agree you should just try to get your account back. Leveling IS way easier now, so even when you aren't getting party many party invites you can still solo for a great amount of exp. Or, you can just get level 30 and gimp your way up to 90 in abyssea, that's what most people do these days anyways(and as a result most people don't know how to play their jobs anymore). I'd just say get your account back though, probably be the best option.
