Just found out that ffxiv implemented a system that when you play at least 8 hours you exp is fine but after that for 7 hours your exp is penalized after those 7 hours you stop getting exp altogether. They have done this to reward casual players. This is 8 hours of game play per WEEK mind you. Square enix expects you to pay 15 dollars a month plus the 120 dollars my husband and I paid for our copies of the game to play 8 hours a week. My husband is in the service has duty every 8 days and has 10 hour work days and still gets penalized game play. So anyone who thinks go get a life he does plenty of work himself and is still outraged. I myself am a stay at home mother I take care of our child and clean the house. I then like to sit down and play games I like. Unfortunately my husband got me addicted to this one before we realized what was happening. You count the weekends people are going to want to play more than 8 hours per week. Imo asking you to pay 15 dollars a month and only getting to play 36 hours a month without being penalized is outrageous. I have now decided to cancel my subscription and request the money we put into this game back. My husband suggested we play FFXI but in all honesty I do not want to give this company any money at all. They need to put in bold caps on the front of the game LIMITED GAME PLAY YOU ARE GETTING RIPPED OFF. I can understand something like 8 hours per day but when you pay for a game there should not be penalties. I have decided I will more than likely be building a boy cot website and if anyone else is as pissed off as I am once built I will link you if you like. This is quite possibly the worst idea I have ever encountered in my life. An idea for Square Enix if they are so concerned for casual players is to make a separate server. One for hardcore players and one for casual play. Sounds fair enough to me. You are supposedly able to switch char classes and play on these but not many people are only going to want to play 8 hours a week on their favorite class. I am also unsure if that is entirely true. At any rate it does not matter because you only get so many leve quests before you cannot be issued more so in effect it doesn't matter once you hit those 8 hours you won't be able to take quests for other classes. Interested in everyone elses thoughts on the matter as well.

Well I would really like to play FFXIV but it would seem I am going to have to change it. I just simply am not paying 15 dollars a month to be ripped off. I don't know what they are thinking. I have read forums they have already lost thousands in cancelled subscriptions and cancelled pre orders. FFXIV fans are outraged and refuse to be ripped off as well. I hope they change it because I really would like to play the game.

Yeah, it was an option to buy this game, but... for only 8 hours of exp a week... doesn't really seem worth it. This would create huge amounts of farmers.

It isn't worth it. At all. If we had known this we wouldn't have bought it but it wasn't highly advertised of course. I just don't get it. They obviously have already lost thousands. It was an awful business move. If they are out to make money they just fucked up bad. I wouldn't be so upset is I hadn't already really gotten into the game but I got addicted then realized what I was paying for :/

Hmmm I haven't heard about this. I guess it is all about money. They want to suck up to casual players inhopes of getting their money but they are losing hardcore players in the process. It is stupid. Like I said they need a casual play server and a hardcore server. Problem fixed and casual players can stop qq'ing like little babies and get ripped off and pay 15 bucks a month. Fuck I care ^.^

You just have to learn to play. It's the fatigue system. You just have to play another class system when you start getting less exp and it balances out. You want to sink your time into more than one class system anyways.

Google or youtube ffxiv fatigue system.

edit: And just because you don't understand a system doesn't mean it is broken.

I didn't say it was broken it is just a shitty design. For people who pay to play a game there should not be level caps because people whine that they are behind. They don't like it they shouldn't pay to play. I pay to play because when I get into a game I put a lot of time into it. I enjoy the game but I do not enjoy getting stuck because I cannot level marauder anymore and then run out of quests because they only let you do 8 leve quests before they won't issue you anymore. Then you are more or less stuck unless you want to go spend all you gil crafting and botching synthesis to level it. So at any rate thank you for assuming I do not understand but I understand perfectly. They are bending over backwards for casual players thus pissing off players such as myself. Research it. Thousands of people are pissed about this and have cancelled their accounts. And we all understand very well what is going on. HEell they said it themselves on one of the youtube videos. Making the game last longer thus making subscriptions last longer. It is a system for them to get more money (which in effect they aren't by as many people who cancelled) and to cater to people who cry a lot about unfair advantages. But like I said my husband has 10 hour work days and would still like to be able to level his PREFERRED class on the weekends yet we cannot. IT is a shit system.
