Most likely Lancer for me too. Lancer has always been one of my favorite jobs in the FF series. I didn't play "Dragoon" in FFXI because I didn't like the idea of it being a Lancer with a pet, though(Warrior was basically my main job in FFXI). Plus, polearm is my favorite type of weapon.

I haven't really looked into the game that much yet though.. so whenever I buy it in september or whatever I'll experiment a little to see what I like the feel of.

yeah thats what im hoping i can use the beta for to test out the characters

i wonder if the classes are decently balanced

Nah, they purposely made only one good class that everyone is going to use.
