Okay so i never played any Final Fantasy game before in my life but i decided to pick up FF13 for my ps3 since so many people rave about how good the series is.

Do you guys think its worth the extra $20 to pick up the strategy guide? I mean for someone who never played any FF game, will i do fine myself or does it get progressively harder as the game goes on?

I know i can go online and look at FAQ's and stuff for free but i rather have a book right next to me and use it.

Any comments/replys would be greatly appreciate.

it only helps for chapter 13 really for all the side missions, i have it and i like it, oh and it also helps with all the items and what not

No guide is really worth it. If you get stuck, just check out gamefaqs. The extra money is really a waste with so many free guides online. The only reason I'd see to get it is if you were some type of collector, or just the type of person that likes having it.

if the guide is less than 10$ like how much i got it for, then its probably worth it for the sidequests..
other than that gamefaqs would be the cheaper option

if you really like FF line and enjoy art work, the book is worth it.
if you only want it for walkthrough help/info you can find that stuff online for free.

well for upping items it's good...can see each items max lvl that not waste stuff...like put 50 some item to get lvl in weapon max lvl...and actually need only 1...that's waste^^

omegaweapon etc was easy to max lvl...only like 1400000 gil per weapon...tier1 lvl1 tier 3 lvl 100...i thought it's much more

imo it's worth to get

once you get into the gamefaq groove there's little reason to look elsewhere. Plus you shouldn't use a guide for your first playthrough, as a rule of thumb.
