A friend of mine told me that it takes ~3 years to get all of the trophies/achievements in this game.
Is that correct? I want to buy it, but I'm an achievement whore.

The 360 achievements? It would probably take more than 3 years to complete them if you are new to the game.
But I don't recommend playing on the 360 anyway.
Also, there's really no reason to try to get into the game at this point in time anyway. It's dying.

The games been out for years, its not dying, its just slowly losing people.
Plus, most ppl "quit" and then start up again after a few months. Its just one of those games that takes most of ur time away.

The fact that it is steadily losing people is why I would consider it dying. That plus the fact that 14 will be out in about half a year.

well, after the world transfers, its gonna be awhile until the game becomes dead

its dead, ff14 is coming out soon. On alexander server. No active sky shells anymore, only 1 hnm shell running, and just doing missions and shit is hard to get a group

well the server im on (valefor) has enough jap/eng on it that it'll take awhile for it to die, prolly just choose a fail server lol

Game is still pretty active...

I just decided to cash out when I still could and made $2000 off my account... I still have one left on the server of Asura, wanna do a lot of BC runs before I trade it off.

Dying? It has about 50% the playerbase that wow has. Interesting term of dying.
