All FF games have separate storylines from one another. If you want to start the FF franchise I advise you start with a better one, such as 7/8/9/10/tactics

Yeah as Jeesusss said, each Final Fantasy has it's own seperate and amazing storyline/characters. The only one that has two parts is FF10 and FF10-2 which is the sequel to 10 :)

I'd advise playing FF10 if you just starting out, it was the first released on the PS2 aswell as it has amazing graphics and an epic storyline. Personal favourite of mine aswell ^_^

What about

FF7, Before Crisis, Crisis Core, Advent children, Dirge of Cerberus
FF4, FF4 The after years
FF12, FF12 Revenant wings
The entire crystal chronicles series

These all have multiple parts.

As for which FF to start with, the standard is FF7 as a starter. Personally I started with FF1 at a very young age then worked my way up as they were released.

If you own FF10-2 I advice you to throw it away. It does not deserve to be a Final fantasy, it sucks major ass.

It doesn't matter what game you play first. But probably start with the crystal chronicle ones as FF13 is set in that world. But it really doesn't matter

ff10-2 was probably the worst out of the series just cuz , well idk i just really disliked it, along with not being able to summon, since you killed them all in ff10 -.- ... aswell as the grament grid made it quite easy you just changed mid battle and then u just like own anything depending on what grid u wanna use..

30mins till i get to go buy my ff13 :D wooot

ffx-2 is honestly not that horrible...I like the dressphere idea and thought that part of the game was alot of fun...
But rly, start with 7/8/10 as they are the most loved, stay away from the wii final fantasies, major dissappintment, heck, you could even start with 13, I think it has potential.

the best ones are 3/6, 7, and 10

this one so far is shaping up to be a very good entry in the series.. too early to see where it will stack up to the rest though
