Are the FF8 graphics worse than FF7?

I don't remember FF8 having bad graphics like these, but then again I haven't played the game in over 6 years

Seeing as I've played both games on PS1, 2 and 3 with the original and platinum discs, I can say that FFVII looks worse than FFVIII. This must be caused by the DLed version.

It's cuz the games look BAD @ HD resolutions.

I believe you can go to PS menu and select "other settings", and set smoothing on, it will smooth out the super HD pixels.
