ive played it on the PS2, it felt much better than playing it on the computer but that alone isnt worth the $100 your looking into putting forward for it. when you buy it for the ps2, theres a few things you need to keep in mind:
1) when you buy FFXI, you buy FFXI + the Hard Drive for the ps2, and on top of that, you might want to buy Chains of Promathia. all that could cost you anywhere from $70.00-$130.00 depending on who and where you buy it from.
2) you'll need a keyboard. lol, just any plan usb keyboard will do. or u can spend hours typing with the analog controller. almost like text messaging, just worse. id say $10.00-$30.00 on this, again depending on who and where you buy it from.
3) and finally, dont forget the monthly charges of using PlayOnline (the browser for FFXI). its, for me, $11.00 a month. content IDs cost, i believe, $10 and some cents, and each additional content ID is $1(or is it each additional character? eh, Lucifer u can clear this up for me).
so, instead of getting it for the ps2, id go ahead and save you $80.00-$160.00 and get it on the computer. if your computer cant play it, just use the $ you had to buy the ps2 copy of ffxi and buy a few upgrades, etc. or if all else fails and you need to play this game, ill welcome you ahead of time.
