I just finished play FF1 and FF2 remakes for PSP and enjoyed them. So I figured why not continue with the main series.
I dusted off my DS and got the FF3 remake, thinking it would similar to the PSP remakes, but sadly I am disappointed.

I don't like the graphic style it has, nor the controls. It is leaving me to wonder how close it is to its parent Famicon version.

In a nutshell, which version of FF3 should I play?

Either play the one you like, or both?

To my knowledge there is only one version of FF3 in english, isnt there?

Further research indicates yes, unless I play a patched Famicon/NES rom.

So it is either NES, outdated 2d graphics
or DS, botched 3d graphics.

FF3 is pro on the DS. I think they did a good job with it.

Go download a NES emulator and download a translated FF3 rom. I played probably 10-11 years ago and even on NES graphics it was an amazing game.

I decided to stick it out with the DS version despite the graphics. I have heard a lot of good things about the storyline but still have yet to see it.

ffiv remake for ds is absolutely incredible

The game itself is turning out to not be that bad, I guess because it is based off the original.
It is just the botched graphics that are bringing me down.
