stupid question.

Arguably the best game ever made. Of course you should put 40 hours into it smile.gif

Even though its YEARS old and shitty graphics (except in battle sequences) this is still the BEST damn FF ever made. Id have to say X is next best. If you dont invest the time, your missing out on a great game and storyline.

Yeah, arguably the best FF game made. I'm a fan of Final Fantasy Tactics myself though. happy.gif

the gameplay is great in my opinion, and if you ignore few "small" facts from the story its cool

Actually, i'll support, and even go so far as to say the gameplay in FF7 is fairly poor when compared to the other FF's, as well as the hokey story which seems to have been written for children (which explains the 'mass appeal' I suppose, oh and the talking dog and stuffed animal)

Overall, it is a pretty decent game, but play one of the better ones, like FF6 if you haven't already, or FF10. Maybe FF8 but 8 is a little weird for a Final Fantasy game.

Or try a different game altogether; there are better RPGs out there than FF ones. Maybe Breath of Fire 3, or Chrono Cross / Trigger, or Xenogears (but not Xenosaga, bleh)

I've started it , and its decent so far, i suppose i'm not very far, but i still think that 8 is probably going to be my favorite of the ff series.

if you have the ability, play crisis core for psp first. Hell, put FF7 on the psp too if you have one. It lessens the pain of the graphics from the sprites. (keep in mind the game is like 10 years old and FF7 graphics were state of the art at that time) It's the prequel game to ff7. It will give you more of an understanding going into ff7. FF7 is a superb game. When it came out it gave players much more to do than they were used to. Sure you can beat the entire game w/o doing anything optional. FF7 (don't take this as the bible) brought real side questing into the mainstream. Most games up until that point you could wander around off the main quest's path but you really couldn't do anything. Make sure you use a faq because if not you will miss out on a ton of stuff.
