LOL it would take. more then 300 hours to lvl to 99 on first disk. well maybe exag but a very long time. and 9999 health on a 13? would you waste your time that badly? the card game is an awesome addon
hrm. 300 hours? T-Rexaurs in Balamb = 10 or less hours for 99 if you know how to play.
9999 health on a 13? i always ignore a certain character, in this case Irvine. he was 13 and i had 100 quakes stocked up. with brothers 20% 40% and 80% hp, i easily attained 9999 hp.
Waste my time? it took no effort and i reached that just playing the game.
about the card game, it was decent but i like IX better because of diagonals. (p.s. i didnt say ff8 was bad bcuz of card game, i just said some people on this forum are obsssssesssed with it)
About the leveling. I think i played the game "the way it should be" most of the time. Yet i still managed a level 42 squall by the end of disc 1 *sighs*

its actually alot better to wait until you have all of the guardians before you level your characters since you can use the lvl up stat bonuses to make your characters much better
the way you make it sound you put entirely too much time into leveling up your party early in the game .. thus making the rest of the game too easy ... just play the game, leave the power leveling for the end of the game when it will do the most good (once you get the cactaur gaurdian... atleast i think it was cactaur)
i cant help not leveling my characters cause that would always be my routine for any other ff's
i.e. finding a good leveling place and getting a decent level, or level until exp starts to lose its effect
i always found it to be fun that way
