Congrats, although I'm not a huge fan on FF9, I can highly recommend FF8. happy.gif

tongue.gif Xenogears got weaker after its first disc. But the first disc was unmitigated awesome.

For your first playthrough of FF8 I recommend using a guide. I'm one of those people who has to 100% complete every game and get / do absolutely everything.. and FF8 isn't like FF7 where it's really hard to miss things. In FF8 you can miss out on things from early in if you don't know what you're doing, and there are LOTS of things to do outside of the normal storyline, so don't miss out!

Stupidest thing I've ever heard, when you start a game, you usually finish it without guide at first.

I said that in reference to FF8, not to games in general. FF8 is a very long game with lots to do, exceptionally so if you do everything, so the recommendation was to save him from some headaches should he play through and decide that he missed way to much and restart. Not everyone is a hardcore RPG gamer. And since he has yet to play 8 or 9, he obviously isn't one, so it's good advice for this game.

dumbass, you're supposed to play the game through at first and after that try like 100% completion....
