I have a problem almost an hour into the game every time I play. During the first match with Steiner after a few cycle attacks with the party, the backround turns a darker shade and freezes. The music still plays and I can still pause the game, but no battle contiunes.

I've tried cleaning the game and on different PS2s, the outcome is the same. And ideas? Clean it more?

Gamestop and EB Games no longer sell PS1 games, so if I can't fix this it's going to suck. -.-''

then your disk must be horribly scratched. best bet is to find a new one on eebay, or go search for a place that does have it. might even try blockbuster. that's where i got my ff9.

Blockbuster carries PS1 games?

I checked BB, they don't sell PS1 games, just newer systems.
