final fantasy: mystic quest ftw

nah i loved the old games, i grew up with nes and supernes lol - but none come close to comparing to FF8. second best rpg i've ever played, trumped only by Earthbound for SNES.
the story for FF8 was unique, inspired, and memorable (i can still play through the entire game in my head). the characters were actually believable and realistic, you could actually see them as real people, in their behaviors, words, and actions.
sorry but FF7 is the most overrated game of all time in my opinion. i played it about 6 times before i finally took the effort to actually beat it. first 5 i made it like 80-90% through the game and gave up because it just wasn't interesting.
i don't care about graphics at all, which is the usual expectation of FF7 fans when somebody doesn't like the game. if the game can hold it's own in terms of gameplay, plot and character development, and originality, then to hell with the graphics.
sorry but imo, FF7 was one of the worst of the entire series. the characters had little to no depth or realism whatsoever, the whole materia system for skills was a poor attempt at creating uniqueness that failed miserably in my mind, and the story...
well pretty sure the fact it took me 6 plays through it for me to actually have the will to see how it all ended sums up how i felt about the story. sorry FF7 fanboys, but yeah.. highly HIGHLY overrated...
