ff7 and ffx for me

Again, if you put FF6 up here, anyone who has ever played that game to completion would vote it #1 in a second. I bought a Game Boy Advance for this one game. It's that fucking good.
Buy a Super Nintendo, a Game Boy Advance, whatever. Just play FF6. You'll thank me, 100% guaranteed.

6 > 4 > 7 > 10 > 5 > 1 > 8 ~ 9 > 12 > 2 ~ 3 Proper order of pwnage in my opinion. Every game beyond 12 on the ranking is a great game the ordering is just a degree of how great after that. FF12 plays itself lol

As far as other RPGs fit in, comparison of a few non FF titles just for fun
Suikoden 2 barely beats, or perhaps ties FF6. Best executed RPG ever imo, it is supurb in every aspect.. but extremely rare (i've seen a sealed copy sell for $300; it's a PS1 game)
Breath of Fire 3 matches FF10
Chrono Trigger ties FF4
Chrono Cross ties FF5
Romancing Saga 5 ties FF5
Tales of Phantasia ties FF4
Star Ocean 2 ties FF7
7th Saga ties FF12, and it's only that good because it is the HARDEST RPG in existance, i've only beaten it twice, and there are certain partner combonations that I am almost certain you CANNOT beat it with.
Earthbound ties FF5 or FF1 (it's just so quirky and lovable)
Skies of Arcadia ties FF5

Voted XI, have to say VII, VIII and X were kick ass too
