I really dont know why, but my favorite is FF viii, simply because it's the one that took me the most time to finish and i had more fun.. story if fucked.. my top 5 FF8, FF6, FF7, FFX, FF9

final fantasy VII was the best story and all around rpg

however

In ff8 i liked the fact that u had to be more active in the game with limit breaks, like zells, where the faster u are, the more dmg gets done
