Can someone honestly tell me Final Fantasy 7 is not overrated? If you truly believe it is the best and always will be the best game out there, then my sympathies to you for having such a limited gaming experience.

PRO's:
- It's a Final Fantasy game, +1 for sheer awsomeness.
- Enjoyable gameplay
- Engaging storyline
- Decent replay value (always a plus)

CON's:
- Overrated, meaning it's not as good as half the world says it is
- Limited side quests, though FF8 is more lacking.
- Some found the storyline confusing. I for one was 8 when I first played it and could not comprehend it.
- 3 discs, my least favorite number.

From an unbiased perspective, the game is a rung short from a masterpiece, but it's high up there on the top x Final Fantasy games.

Overall, this game is a word-of-mouth phenomenom that's better in the general public's mind than it actually is in reality.

Sorry for displeasing you. Don't be mad because I wouldn't sink my teeth into Cloud's $@* if I got the chance. Like I said earlier, this is a pointless thread. If you had even a little bit of intelligence, you'd know that A., people will mostly pick FF7 as the superior, and B., discussions like these are extremely biased.

...ff8 has more sidequest then ff7..

and holypaladin i know the ruby/emerald weapons are hard... but there like the only sidequest there is on the game...and thers no reason to even beat them cuz u dont get shit from them... i find that very dumb

and i vouch ff7 is more band wagon'd then fuckin college football.. i find the story in ff7 to be REALLY gay.. the story doesnt even make sense until u beat ff7+watch the movie+play crisis core then after all that its still pointless..

i just dont care for ff7 but i do love cloud/sephiroth 2 of the kewlest ff cahrs there are

ffx is prob best ff ever made.

Does it? From the looks of it (currently playing through), there seems to be very little to do besides the main story.

I don't want to get started on my disdain for FF8...

I'd probably agree there. Everything in that game was done right.

how far are u into ff8... once u get to the third disk theres alot more to do lolz.. once u get the ragnarok. u can get all there ultimate weapons.. u can collect all the gfs+ beat ultima.. [get 100 ultimas and link it to your strength or w/e else u want] theres quite a bit more to do then ff7.. on ff7 freakin ultima is flying around u run into him and beat him without even trying then u get the ultima weapon..

ff8 sidequest+storyline is much harder only thing on ff7 thats hard are the weapons

ffx is by far the best ff.. awsome gfx+a great story.. its probably the ff that the story makes the most sense (until u beat it then ur like wtf?)+its rly fun to play

only thing that i didnt care for on ffx was the sphere grid.. cuz i didnt know how to use it til way after i beat the game so it was hard as fuck.. now all my chars do 99999 a hit lolz!

Actually, I just got the Ragnorak. I guess now I realize there is a bit more to do, but besides the Ultimate Weapons, I don't find the other things to do so exciting

As for the difficulty of FF8..
I think the game is way too easy. If you know how to junction properly and use your cards right, all the battles are tedious and boringly easy.

I loved the concept of the sphere grid. It was innovating, and a good break from conventional leveling up.

if u think its so easy go to the bottom left corner of the map and land on that lil thing then walk up and talk to the glowing object.. (u will fight 2 ruby dragons then bahamut then ultima (if u choose) and if u ifnd that easy try to beat omega in ultimecias castle which isnt possible w/o holy wars lolz

btw do u have the lionheart yet? what level are u and whats ur dmg lolz... cuz with the lionheart if u get the actual lionheart finisher in the renzokuken it hits about 39848934398 times and does 9999 a hit LOL

and yah its just like the ffx.. if u know how to use the sphere grid (just like knowing how to junctioN) ur gonna dominate the game unfornately i didnt find out how to use the sphere grid rlly well until after i beat the game... so it was hard as fuck for me.. but now i have every chars ultimate weapon+every chars sphere grid completely finished on ffx. lolz.

(if ur looking for tough sidequest ff12 has more sidequest then any other ff's combined lol)

I only have Squall's starter weapon, but I already junctioned 100 ultimas to str, so I hit around 6 times for 7k dmg w/ renzokuken.

I went to that island you mentioned, didn't know what to expect. First off, i encountered 9409321093 monsters there because I didn't know i was supposed to avoid the light. Odin killed off the red dragons for me, and my whole party was in the yellow health zone (i keep them there for quick battles via Limit breaks). Fight Bahamut for a little bit, get my ass handed to me because I didn't have any items and/or magic commands.

For FFX, the game isn't necesarrily hard given the sphere grid, but you can't manipulate it as much as you can with FFVIII's Junction system.

ehh.. ur lucky odin came in for ur dragons cuz the rubys do like 7k dmg when they use there breath attack (and they use it frequently) make sure u have atleast like 5 mebe a couple more holy wars... so u can beat omega weapon in ultimecias castle cuz u cant beat it w/o holy wars it does 9999 dmg to all ur chars lolz. (get them b4 u go to the 4th disk cuz u cant go into towns nemore when u go to the 4th disk)

btw get the lionheart it will bring ur dmg up a shitload adn the lionheart finisher with renzokuken hits 50 million times and every hit does 9999 dmg

btw how did u get 100 ultimas so early in the game? did u just run around on island closest to heaven and hell and draw for 50 hours?
