Yes those are classes... Monk, Black Mage, White Mage... Classes are denoted as 3 uppercase letters

This guy plays on a legacy server which means he gets to keep his old characters from when the game first came out

And I believe the unlocking refers to doing a class quest that unlocks a move for that class

the hardcore oldschool pvpers played games like UO, DaoC, AC: Darktide, Shadowbane, Darkfall...not L2.

Not sure if anyone will be interested in this, but I will be playing on Hyperion with a few legacy friends. I am mostly maxed out on everything and only missing relic. I used to have a lot of free time but that is no longer the case. So, if anyone is looking to play with some folks who can help you out, you can look to us if you are interested. We are very experienced in version 1 and are very chill. I understand that not everyone will want to start on legacy servers, but if you have a legacy character and are looking for people to kickback with, or just want to start off with a helping hand, let me know.

I'd rather play with people who already know about the game and the 1.0 lore than start with a bunch of newer players complaining about random things

And then being stuck on a low-pop server when inevitably half of them get bored and quit.

There's obviously pros and cons to both, have to just weigh them out for your situation. I personally will be rolling a new char on Excalibur

Economy is gonna be fked, and there are plenty of people who have played the game previously that are rolling on new servers (My friend has a couple 50's and is still playing Gilgamesh)

Plus, just because they knew the old shitty ffxiv doesn't mean they know ARR

I have my crown, all 50's and such while I was on Gugnir. But I'll be rolling a new char with friends when arr hits. I'm not even doing it just for the friends, i want to experience the complete game. I feel that starting off at 50 will just allow me to steamroll the early quests and not fully enjoy the game.

And yet this is all pending the game doesn't suck.
