Jeez, I can only barely stand the graphics of FF7 because the story is great. I mean really I should screen shot ff7 with one of the later ones, and it would be insta-own. The first time I played FF7 I thought I bought a knock off that wasn't a real Final Fantasy, as I had played some of the later ones (like 10 and 11) which have very much more realism, while FF7 is extremely blocky, and most things just didn't look right. The sound in FF7 was okay, but sometimes repetitive, and there were no voices (which kinda sucked). The things FF7 had going for it was the gameplay and story line, which were fantastic. The Topic maker needs to specify what he wants in the game before asking which is the best.
sorry to post again but i just saw this....
you are obviously very young, i remember playing FF1 on the NES when it was brand new when i was like 9 or 10.. IT WAS AMAZING! If all you are looking for is graphics then go to adventure/action games and first person shooters, RPGs like Final Fantasy are not about graphics, they are about taking the player and sucking them into a grand story on your screen. I never cared what graphics looked like, i guess people who grew up on PS2 and 3 have a differnt perspective. WHen i was small kid, i had an Intellivision, thats right.. games with square blocks that made the orignal NES look like it came from another planet with its amazing graphics. It would do well for all to learn to appreciate a good story, and that is EXACTLY what the old FF's had. Oh and along with Chrono Trigger, possibly the greatest video game ever made, EVER!
