I'd school you, but it looks like everyone else already slapped you around and made you look like a rape victim.

Firstly do you really think people are going to buy 15 if they know 13 sold out? Terrible business sense.

the ONLY reason 13 will make money is because it was multi platformed, and i bet it STILL will not even make half of what 7 did, or 8, or 10.

But i'll let the downie who probably found 13 hard get on with his pathetic life.

Also @ Xeonics, you are telling everyone that the most bought, most popular game EVER. Was shit. No really, you must know better then like 800 million people.

2 (or 4) to Aussies, set the trend for FF games. 7 was a continuous of a proven winning formula. Stupidity of 13 fanboys shocks me. I bet 90% of you didn't even play 4,5,6. Probably played FF7 on the psp.

Where do people come up with this shit. It was not the most bought, most popular game ever. And it sold closer to 8 million not 800 million....fuck.

^ Yeah.

According to these numbers:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_best-selling_video_games

It's not even in top 20. But, basically, Nintendo smashes everything else in terms of sales. Looking at the list though, it and the GTA series are pretty high up there.

^ I can give you my opinions as to why it's one of my least favorites. I don't take it to extremes as "shitty", because it's not. But I think it's somewhat overrated.

The materia system was overpowered and made characters feel generic, copies of each other. The characters really didn't have roles, since they all did the exact same things whenever they pleased. Even though the characters did have certain stat progression that differed, the materia system really made it moot.

In terms of difficulty, FF7 is the easiest. This probably ties in with the materia system being overpowered. No fight was really a challenge. Also, there are extremely cheap ways to set up your characters with materia which makes losing a battle pretty much impossible. Losing a battle in that game is pretty embarrassing. Really, the only hard fights are the Ruby and Emerald weapons, and even those aren't that hard to beat.

It did follow the generic formula, as a lot of RPGs do. Where a ragtag group of people gets together to save the world. The only characters that REALLY knew each other were Cloud and Tifa, everyone else were just random people who decided they'd help. Also, the storyline follows the usual "bad guy wants to become more powerful so he can rule/destroy the world". I didn't think the story was told in a particularly efficient matter either. The game had a good pace in terms of progression through the story, but I don't think the actual story telling was the greatest. There were a lot of things that didn't really make sense as the game progressed, things that weren't explained well. I've played the game through all the way a few times, and I know that I didn't have a grip on all the details even after that. I don't consider a story solid if that's the case. I know a lot of people felt the same way.

Things I can agree with though: it does have a good soundtrack, good story pacing with plenty to keep you interested, plenty of side quests and exploration ability, and a solid cast of characters. As far as the characters go, everyone has a strong personality or identity. One thing I hate though, and this isn't REALLY related to FF7, is how much shit Squall gets for being emo in FF8. BUT, Cloud is one of the most emo characters ever, I'd argue he has more angst than Squall, and noone seems to give him any shit. It's obvious favoritism. He's emo, and insane as shit, but it's all good because it's Cloud I guess.

So, Barret & Tifa didn't know each other? Really, Final Fantasy VII was flawless.

We all know Squall is emo, Cloud is a badass.

By far the worst game of the Final Fantasy series. I felt like every 30 seconds there was a cut scene. I couldn't even play like the rest of them FF series.

Final Fantasy is now a sell out.

If you are an MSG fan, please go kill yourself in light of your hypocrisy.
If not, congrats.

Edit:
As for numbers...
A lot of top selling games were games released with the system.
(I.E About everyone who bought an SNES has Super Mario World)

And franchises:
#6 Final Fantasy (97 million)[179]

all ff7 started was a semi3d enviroment, with merely the same gameplay as final fantasy 2 and 3, it's really not that good of a game to tell you the truth the storyline was ehhh, but I think out of all of them, 10 was probably the best.

reason being why is that you didn't level up, and it was a careful turn by turn scenario, I don't think you would actually play 7 again for 60-80 hours, that's just my feedback.
