I assume you never played wow? Because combat can be methodical (it's called a rotation), along with boss fights, the same thing with this game.
Solo game play is a choice as well, you can group to whatever level you want to as soon as you are able to use the dungeon finder tool.
And how do you gather that I am upset?

So how is this hardcore? It doesn't sound difficult, just more tedious. Forcing to group, and grinding, so hardcore.
Unless you mean dedication is hardcore?
