It was about time Final Fantasy got with the program.
I mean lets see they had turned based battles.
Okay so its like this comparison
I hit you, you hit me, I hit you , you hit me.
Hmmmm might as well play cards with my grandmother......play battle. I flip my card she flips hers.....she wins. I flip mine, she flips her's I win.
BORING.
But excellent nontheless for the other games. FFXII was time they changed that.
And forget about thinking that Square Enix is going back. FF13 is not written that way. It won't be turned based anymore.

yeah i think you are right they keep getting better and better

i hope so ,i thought the new battle system was by far the best , also the fact that there isnt class specific weapons too

I am a big ff fan, but i have to say this LAME.

It's...innovative, but definatly not as good as it could've been.

i dont really like it and wish they would stop switching things up

I got used to FF12s game play instantly (seeing as how i play FFXI sumtimes at a friends house or bros) and the gambits are useful but you can just make em so that it auto heals and revives (thats what i do... makes the game less boring) and therefore i have more fun playing the new game that everyone says it sucks cuz they dont know how to adapt to a new kind of battle system or just use internet to find the cheapest gambit combo...

No I don't because I have a ps2 from launch and haven't had a problem with it yet..

To be more on topic, the battle system was great but the story was lame so I quit playing. If they could do away with the shit story from 12 and have an old school story like ff1-7 then we can start talking near best ff of all time .

true it was still turn based it was just free movement, some day theyll make on in actual realtime itll be so challenging
