The game is a classic. The storyline was superb, the characters were more developed than ever before, and even more than most games today. The Materia battle system was revolutionary, and in my opinion still the best out of all the Final Fantasies made. The game was long enough to be fun, but not so long that it became annoying. (FFVIII for example) The graphics were captivating, especially the CG sequences, for the time period.

It isn't the best RPG ever made. But it's damn close in my opinion. And it's the best Final Fantasy. Period.

Its just the most famous in Japan and everyone talks about it, i personally prefer ff10 but everyone has their preferences/

I dont agree that the storyline is the best out of em all but i DEFinately agree that the majority likes ff7 because who doesnt wana be part of the *correct* group.
