I've played all six (of the main) older ones, and I agree 7-10 were definitely the better ones.

With the exception of 5 (or was it 6?). I'd have to look into which one was which as it's been a while since I've played those.

Not saying the earlier ones are bad though; they were good in their own rights.

5 had Bartz, Lenna, Faris, Galuf, Cara, Gilgamesh, Exdeath, etc
6 had Locke, Terra, Celes, Sabin, Kefka, etc

I kind of like how you can run a 2 player feature, though its fairly useless if you dont have a dedicated Roommate or something of that nature.

yes ff9 was a great game :) it was the 1st 1 to bring back assigned characters to certain roles, eg white and black mage. i also liked the ability system :)

Also, the ONLY thing I liked about 9, was the music which was epic.

This is the ONLY FF game I've EVER played, where I just put the controller down and said "Fuck this, I'm done."
Normally I play a game all the way through, just for the sake of beating it no matter how shitty it is to me. I just couldn't do it.

I mean hell, I even played through X-2 TWICE, just to 100% the game, and I hated that one too.

I dont see how ANYONE can hate FF9...especially more than X-2.

Magic system was horrid
Trance was bad
Majority of the Characters were boring and had no real stories
The Graphics would have probably looked more at home with ''Barbie Riding School''

i could go on , it was a very poor game.
Although dont get me wrong
X-2 shouldn't even be considered a true FF game , it was an absolute disgrace.
